Description: Ask any group of experts to define the elements of team performance and you will get a long list. Ask them in what order to those elements and you will get a long discussion. Long lists and long discussions are not actionable.

In this presentation Doug Peters will reduce those long lists down to three variables. He will then demonstrate how those elements combine to create a three-dimensional puzzle that must be solved each time a team is built. Finally, he will present his Team Launch Strategy that organizes the building of a team into a Phase/Gate system for team development that develops high performance teams faster, better, and at less cost than traditional team building approaches.

Doug’s work is based on the best practices of high performance teams at 3M. These best practices were developed over an intensive twenty-year period of implementing high performance new product teams, business, teams, executive teams and improvement teams in over 75 divisions of 3M Company. He has applied this learning to high performance teams in companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations. His worked was published in the PDMA Tool Book and was presented to an International PDMA conference in Orlando, Florida.
