Introduction/Description:

Maggie kept saying that she was not any good at telling stories.  Meanwhile, she told a vivid tale about her career turning point.  Like Maggie, many people dismiss their storytelling skills and leave this powerful communication tool out of their leadership toolbox.  Business storytelling unifies teams by building trust and credibility.  During innovation, stories help to deepen insights, spark the flow of ideas, illuminate solutions, and pitch new ideas.  When coaching, mentoring, and networking, well-told stories can convey your leadership values and demonstrate who you are and what you stand for.

This session will help PMI members find and polish story gems that will enhance their leadership impact.  Whether you are a natural or wannabe storyteller, this workshop can help you create business-relevant stories that leave your listeners pondering new truths.  You will learn a three-step process for business storytelling:  1) find story gems, 2) develop plot and meaning, and 3) polish with salient details.
