Networking is all the rage! You hear about it everywhere! More than 80% of jobs are found thru who you know. Networking is also a great way to learn about new industries, elements in business strategies and work cultures in different companies! It can make YOU be the expert on what is happening in the business community! But, how do you find out who you should know and then how do you navigate the process of informational interviews and participating in networking events to make it work for you? Come to this work session and learn the how/why/where’s of networking. We will cover the components of good networking strategies and apply the ideas in real life exercises.
About the Speaker:
Tom Colosimo
Tom Colosimo is a Career Architect/Coach. He prides himself as being a ‘master connector’ for networking and helping people connect with people for success. Tom is not your typical career coach/advisor. Along the way, Tom has been an accountant within manufacturing, retail and banking compliance for over 20 years. He then went on to be a third party recruiter for 6 years doing ‘match-making’ within the finance, accounting, marketing, engineering and technology areas of focus.
Tom then spent 8 years at the University Of St. Thomas Opus College Of Business as a Graduate Career Coach/Corporate Relations Manager for the business programs on the Minneapolis Campus. In this role, Tom excelled at making many corporate connections for the MBA students, bring hundreds of corporate partners to the campus for internships, and perm placements.
Since leaving ‘UST’ in 2016, Tom has continued to expand his experience in several ‘corporate’ recruiting roles and for the past year, has worked for an ‘on-line’ college; Altierus Career College based in Minneapolis. In this role, Tom has been assisting students and alums all over the country with job searching, resumes, and connecting people with corporate partners for success.
Tom lives in Oakdale with his wife Barb. They have two adult daughters; Anna and Emily.
